Super excited to be accepted to exhibit again at the Brisbane Finders Keepers Design Market 8-10 November at Brisbane Showgrounds. I will have a teapot stall with both functional and fanciful individually crafted teapots for all you teapot lovers and collectors. If you’d like to follow my works in progress, check my Instagram page @pj_pottery
TEAPOTS are a challenge and a joy to create, I feel honoured to be part of the November Finders Keepers design market in Brisbane with a stall of my handmade teapots and I’m in a frenzy of making. Thought I’d share part of the process…
teapots are made in separate parts – body, spout, lid and handle – and put together once the clay has firmed up a little to a ‘leather hard’ state. Once constructed they need to dry slowly to avoid cracking of the individual components and then they are bisque fired, glazed and fired again.
Opening the kiln at the end of this quite long process is a huge reason I love pottery, it’s like opening a treasure chest – every time!
Drum roll…..PJ Pottery has been selected to participate in Finders Keepers Spring/Summer designer market, Brisbane Showground, 9-11 November. Visit their website, it’s awesome. Look me up on the directory, I will have a stall dedicated to tea pots.
it’s finally here! As of this Saturday, I will have a stall at the iconic Eumundi Markets every first Saturday of the month with a selection of my individually crafted teapots
we are part of the national Australian Ceramics Association open studios 2018! Come visit us at Kandanga Pottery 18 & 19 August
I am very happy to be part of the Noosa Open Studios in August with 5 other local artists at French and Gorgeous Cafe, Cooroy. Mark it on your calendar, it is a wonderful art adventure once a year with over 60 of the region’s artists and multiple galleries involved.
