I am staying positive through this current lockdown. My cancelled classes means I am making the most of studio time and creating teapots in all shapes and sizes.
These are all works in progress and will be fired to 1000 degrees and then glazed in various colours.
We are all rugged up on Tamborine Mountain, wood smoke fills the evening air but it’s been snug and cosy at the PJ Pottery Studio and my wonderful enthusiastic students have just finished term 2 classes. I am so proud of their progress and some magic pots have been created over the last 10 weeks. Check out these amazing works including some marvellous monsters from a children’s pottery workshop I conducted in April with Scenic Rim Regional Council
Don’t forget my WINTER SALE of handmade jewellery ends last day of June – HAPPY SHOPPING!
Back in the warmth of January I ran a ceramic jewellery workshop and revelled in watching my students get excited about their creations. So now we are in May and I have at last finished and photographed my own handmade porcelain earrings and handmade glass bead necklaces.
Some of these have been embellished with small porcelain trinkets making them pop. And to celebrate, all of these new pieces are on sale until the end of June. I hope you find one or two you like here.
There is a wonderful array of workshop choices at the 2021 Buderim Craft Cottage Winter School on the Sunshine Coast. These include a two day workshop with me! THE CLAYSURFACE 3-4 July 2021.
Explore a variety of surface treatment methods for application onto clay, from the raw surface to onglaze methods. Participants will make new pieces to be enhanced with surface treatment techniques and see demonstrations on carving, stamping, water etching and much more.
I was chuffed to have one of my teapots to be recently selected as a finalist in the Klytie Pate Award Mansfield, Victoria I was in great company with some brilliant Australian potters, one of only 40 to be on display. Not the winner, but this baby did sell!
And now we are suddenly in March! Okay, welcome autumn! Although, it’s 30 degrees here on Mt Tamborine as I write this….
My first term of ceramic classes are at the halfway mark and I’m blessed with a bunch of keen students. So now I am pleased to offer the first of term 2 classes at my home studio on Mt Tamborine.
