Nicci has been involved with ceramics for over 25 years exhibiting and teaching in NSW and Qld. In 2017 she quit her arts management job and moved to Qld to become a full -time potter, a decision she has not regretted.

I love to throw on the wheel; it is that quiet timeless space that coalesces 20 years of practice and spontaneous creativity into one action. Then comes the science and an age old process: firing the clay; mixing ingredients like an apothecary; dipping, lapping and overlapping glazes and loading the kiln, hoping the kiln gods smile on you. I feel privileged to be able to work in the field of ceramics, creating forms that offer a haptic intimate experience that only handmade crafts can give.

This sweet little video is by one of my former students, Chris Austin, who produced this for a uni project she was doing in 2020.
