Winter at the studio

We are all rugged up on Tamborine Mountain, wood smoke fills the evening air but it’s been snug and cosy at the PJ Pottery Studio and my wonderful enthusiastic students have just finished term 2 classes. I am so proud of their progress and some magic pots have been created over the last 10 weeks. Check out these amazing works including some marvellous monsters from a children’s pottery workshop I conducted in April with Scenic Rim Regional Council

Don’t forget my WINTER SALE of handmade jewellery ends last day of June – HAPPY SHOPPING!

handmade jewellery: shop update

Back in the warmth of January I ran a ceramic jewellery workshop and revelled in watching my students get excited about their creations. So now we are in May and I have at last finished and photographed my own handmade porcelain earrings and handmade glass bead necklaces.

Some of these have been embellished with small porcelain trinkets making them pop. And to celebrate, all of these new pieces are on sale until the end of June. I hope you find one or two you like here.

Open studio in November

VERY excited to be in the 2020 Australian Ceramics Open Studios Sat/Sun 21/22 November. My lovely studio will be (hopefully) clean and tidy and pots priced and displayed ready for sale. There will be the traditional sales table of seconds and old stock as well as fresh new work hot from the kiln. I’ll be offering discounts for my wonderful students and repeat customers so come along, talk clay, and bring some spending money #nearlyxmas

I will be giving throwing demonstrations all weekend so bring your children and friends to see how pottery is made on the wheel. See you next month!

winter update

the boots, scarves and jumpers are out and it’s a lovely time to visit Tamborine Mountain: be invigorated by the fresh mountain air and spoil yourself to a hot toddy at one of our excellent cafes and restaurants.

I’m thrilled to say the Iso Tea-Time of the Soul exhibition at Under The Greenwood Tree has been extended so there is one more week to see this show of steampunk inspired ceramics, you can ask Janene for a copy of the catalogue

potting in iso

what strange times we are in, hope you are all taking the time to do a bit of self healing, introspection and whole lot of creativity and catching up on all that domestic stuff we never usually get around to.

I am enjoying the guilty pleasure of being super focused on the clay and have created some pretty special steampunk teapots and tea-related items that will (hopefully) be in a solo exhibition on Tamborine Mountain late June at the delightful and intimate Under the Greenwood Tree Bookshop and Art Gallery…more info coming

did I say the last market?

Ah well! This is definitely the last market before Christmas! And for 2019…I think….

This Sunday 6 December Tamborine Mountain Country Market, (Check out the market’s FB page for more info) PJ Pottery will have a stall with loads of Christmas specials and a summer feature of the popular pastel range including the new limited edition range of translucent porcelain jewellery.

And sharing the Christmas love a bit further, PJ Pottery will give 10% of all cash sales to the Red Cross Drought Appeal
