The clay used for these vessels is called Lumina from Keanes, it has the ability to be translucent when built with thin walls and fired to 1300 degrees Celcius. It is a lovely experience to hold these vessels and feel their delicate weight and see the shadow of your hands through the walls of the clay.
There are only a few weeks left to view these pieces for sale and on display at the Untethered exhibition at the Butter Factory Art Centre, Cooroy. Come along and enjoy this showing of over 20 artists’ work from the Sunshine Coast hinterland, and support local art!
My final solo exhibition in November 2017 in Glen Innes, NSW was a delightful experience, visitors were treated to a special morning tea provided by The TeaRoom on some of my specially designed high tea servers.
